We decide to go to Prague when my parents came over for a visit. My Dad said that it was a place he always wanted to visit.
In order to work it around Bug's naptime, we traveled to Prague via RyanAir and returned via EasyJet.
Airport Parking
Any time I travel out of Stansted, I park in the Green Short Stay Parking lot. Book your parking beforehand and it is so much more affordable. It is a short walk into the Terminal. I did Purple Parking once here and missed my flight because the buses don't run often enough. It was an expensive mistake!
Getting around
We booked an airport transfer with Prague Airport Transfers. It was very affordable and convenient. I had them pick me up from Prague Castle on our way back home. What I liked is they gave me a login so I could change the times and venue. They also had careseats- I highly recommend them.
Where we stayed
After doing a lot of searching, I found this place on AirBandB. It was perfect for us! It was spacious and in a great location. We could walk everywhere and if we were tired, the tram was nearby too.
I did the One-Hour River Cruise Drink and Dessert with Bug. It was a great way to see the city and it let Daddy take a nap. She ate the strudel and I had the coffee! It was only €4 more than the standard ticket.
We spent only 3 hours here because we had to catch our flight but we could have spent a whole day here. It was a very nice place to spend the day. We got the tickets where you could go everywhere.
Prague Cathedral was also here and it a must see- it is very beautiful.
We took the Metro from our accommodation up to the castle.
This place was really great for the entertainment value and the food was good. I don't think I have ever had my drinks delivered by toy train before! It was not too expensive either- book online ahead or you get an extra charge.
This is a good place to tie in with the Wenceslas Square.
I am always keen to find places to let Bug run off her energy so that I can balance what I want to do with what she wants to do. This playground was in walking distance from our flat. So it was an easy option to go to in the evening before we headed to dinner. I think I loved the train more than Bug did!
We were looking for somewhere to go while my parents headed to the Terezin Concentration Camp. When I looked up the Prague Zoo, I saw on one listing it ranked #4 in the world. It is a bit of a ways from the city centre so instead of hopping on the buses, I thought it would be more exciting riding the boat there.
We really enjoyed the zoo. We only planned to spend 3 hours there and return by boat during Bug's afternoon nap. This was only just enough time to see the zoo. At the end, we were a bit rushed to see the main animals. So my advice is to plan to stay longer than 3 hours here.
My parents took this trip through Martin Tours. They got on and off the tour at the Old Square. It was 5 hours long and they really enjoyed it. I didn't think that Bug would have handled and hour bus ride there and back after also flying but it meant they could see what they wanted and we could see Prague at our own pace. Which I find allows us to curb meltdowns.
