Finchingfield is said to be one of the most pictured village in England. It has been here since records have began and use to be a coach stop for those traveling from London to Norwich.
It has an 18th century windmill, 3 pubs, a village hall, a primary school, church, Post Office, grocery store, doctor’s surgery and a few other shops. The author of One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Dodie Smith lives here.
I usually go here once a year to meet up with a friend of mine who lives in a nearby village, Saffron Walden. The drive to this little village is lovely and its really nice just walking around the pond and having a nice lunch at one of the local pubs. The buildings are beautiful and is what I think of when I think of village life in England.
This is a lovely place to drive to and have a gentle walk around.
