The more I think about it and in the current times, we got really lucky when we were down here. It was during May 2021 so COVID was still around and a lot of things you had to prebook but when we didn't we managed to get in.
So one day we headed to Rye to have a wander. I work with someone from the area and said that they really liked this place. It was super cute to wander through the streets.
We were wandereing around and saw a National Trust sign about this house so I thought I would see if we could get in even though we hadn't booked tickets. We were in luck and I am glad that I did!
The house dates back to 1722 and has had some famous visitors to include George I! The size of the house is decieving as it doesn't look like much but because Bug loves gardens (and flowers) we were pleasantly surprised when we went outside.
You are allowed to picnic here and enjoy the grounds so that is a great option if you don't want to eat out locally.
I think the nice thing for me about the whole COVID situation is Bug loves to be outside and loves nature. So I didn't hesistate taking her here. We brought the scooter so she would walk further than without. There are a lot of pavement paths which makes it very accessible.
We did head to the beach which surprisingly is only just down from Camber Sands and it more rocky. They have a cafe, toilet and exhibit here.
We also took part in the Wildlife Trust's Pond Dipping event, so I would look ahead and book them in if you are in the area.
We spent the entire day here so we really enjoyed ourselves!
